What You Required:
Yarn: Pick a medium weight yarn which is easier to hold.
Crochet Hook: Take the hook which is advised the size of your yarn however usually it is an H/8 (5 mm) for beginners.
Step by Step Pictorial Representation for Double crochet Stitch:
Make a slip knot on your hook and chain the number of stitches you want. Always remember to add three chains as your turning chain.
- Yarn Over
Wrap a strand of yarn around the hook. This is usually referred to as yarn over (YO).
- Insert Hook
Using the hook, enter into the fourth chain from the hook.(this is counted as the first stitch)
- Pull Through
Yarn over again and pull the chain so that there are finally three loops on the hook.
- Yarn Over and Pull Two of the Loops
Yarn over and pull through the first two loops, which were on the hook, leaving two still on the hook.
- Yarn Over Again and Pull Through Last Two Loops
For the last time yarn over and pull through the last two loops. This is the completion of one double crochet stitch.
Repeat
Repeated the steps as many times as required along the foundation chain and , chain three at the end of the row and turn to begin the next row.
